Loved the welcoming staff at Shangri-La! Breakfast was amazing, and the service was top-notch. Rooms were a bit old with a slight smell, and quite a walk from main areas. I’d return for the fantastic staff!

This hotel has a spectacular location but feels a little dated and tired. The rooms are comfortable but need a remodel to keep up with the rest of the UAE luxury experince. The food is ok but fairly mid for what you pay (the prices are very high, feels like airport rules as there are no other choices nearby) the amenities eg gym, tennis courts, pool and lazy river are great. I think the kids club needs a revamp, feel more like babysitting vs a kids club experience. I would have loved it to have more of an Oman vibe, felt like any hotel around the world. I do think any luxury hotel brand that comes from the UAE will outpace this place very quickly if they dont update. I strongly recommend getting a cab to Oman Mall, great shopping and food choices. Snow Oman was a must do experience, especially to have dinner with the penguins, it was a highlight of the whole trip. Would visit Oman again but maybe find a different luxury hotel next time.

Samba and Assira, both located at Al Waha, remain operational throughout and Surf Café will open from 1st of June until 30th of September 2025.

From 22 May until 27 June, a pop-up lounge will be set up opposite Sultanah restaurant serving A la Carte beverages, from 7pm to midnight.

Please note that the operating days of some of our dining venues may vary and are subject to change as per the resort's occupancy.

The recreational facilities at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah will be available, including the swimming pool at Al Waha, the lazy river and the splash pad.

If you currently have a reservation at Al Bandar during this period, and in order to ensure that the stay of your client remains seamless and exceptional, we recommend relocating the booking.

For guests aged 16 years old and above on single/double room occupancy, they will be moved to Al Husn hotel to an equivalent room category on booked basis, including daily refilled mini bar.

And for bookings with guests less than 16 years old, we are pleased to offer an upgraded room category at Al Waha hotel on booked basis.
